How do we teach with money?

Screenshots from some of the Children's Moneyworld activities

Children's Moneyworld has its own family called The Moneykins whereby each coin is presented as a unique character with their own distinctive style and personality. This encourages children to bond with characters thus removing the fact that they are learning as they play.

Making it fun!

The Moneykins feature in everything CMW offers, from our games and activities; right the way through to our colouring sheets and printable material. By associating a colourful cartoon-like character with each coin, children are naturally curious in interacting with that character throughout the learning process.

Everything in its right place

Consistency is very important at Children's Moneyworld, and even more so with a young learner. That's why we ensure that each coin is the exact size in relation to others, and that when printed, is the correct size. Even our Moneykins characters are all correctly scaled with their coin counterparts; and each other!

Put the teacher in control

Our content has been designed as an "Open ended solution". This means that we don't assume a teaching style, we don't force the content to be used in a certain way. Quite simply, the interactive material can be used in any way which you feel is best:

  • To print out and use in a small group on paper
  • To project onto a whiteboard and demonstrate to a group
  • To project, and allow students to take turns
  • Each student can load up the activity on their own and work through

As you can see, these are just a few ways which teachers use our content. They are ideal for homework too, as each attempt is recorded - and each score is noted. Many of our subscribers use Children's Moneyworld as a homework repository, by assigning certain activities to be completed. Those without internet access can take a printed sheet home and do exactly the same activity on paper. It is extremely important that all students have access to the same material.
