Grandpa Hundred is quite old, but keeps himself fit and healthy by working on the farm growing apples for Grandma's pies. He is vary proud of his son, Pop ten, and hopes that one day he will take over as head of the farm and keep the family business going just as he has done for many years. He has lots of stories about the old days which he tells to the children, not without some exaggeration. He is very proud of his beard and strokes it when he is thinking, which is something he does very often, Grandpa can always be found in the orchard, and on hot days you will find him taking a nap in the shade of an apple tree.
