Mom has two main jobs, she helps Grandma in the kitchen, but also looks after the family accounts. This means that she likes to make sure that there is enough money to pay all of the bills to keep the farm going. She has a big blue book where she writes all of the money that the family makes, and all the money that they spend. It's Moms job to make sure that they don't spend too much. Because mom does both jobs, her blue book has lots of pastry, egg and flour all over it! Once she made a mistake with her adding up because a spot of pastry was covering up some of the numbers! Every Friday afternoon Mom calls the family together and gives them their wages for their weeks work. The children get pocket money for helping out.
