Recording of IP addresses and statistical monitoring Internet Protocol (IP) addresses are used to connect your computer to the Internet, and are recorded by every site on the Internet. CMW uses "Analog" software to gather and analyse anonymous activity information for statistical purposes and for administration of our web site and servers. The general information we collect is used to improve the content of our web pages and your navigation through our site. This software does not collect any personal information, and we do not record or store individual visitor profiles.
Cookies Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that are transferred to hard drives through web browsers to enable recognition of individual visitors. Cookies are used on the CMW to identify you as a returning visitor. They allow us to store details pertaining to any individual settings you may have selected whilst using our website. Cookies on our website do not store your email address or any financial details pertaining to your account with us.
Registration and Order Forms Visitors need not register to visit our home page and access information about the company. Some specific pages may require registration and the provision of personal contact data (such as name and email address). User-specific data volunteered by you when requesting membership is used to allow us to contact you to advise of new services or products that may be of relevance to you. The data is archived for marketing and sales internal use only and is never shared with other organisations.
Financial Information Our web site is not protected by the industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, so we only accept financial information (such as credit card numbers) via fax or email directly from the authorised card holder. This data is not shared with other organisations, except when transmitting the credit card number to the appropriate credit card company during order processing. The data is archived electronically and in paper format, for internal accounting use only.
Opt-Out Consent In accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the minor revisions listed in December 2003, we provide the opportunity for you to opt out of certain types of usage of your personal data when supplied to us via registration and order forms. Should you wish your personal data to be explicitly removed from our database you can request this by emailing webmaster@childrensmoneyworld.com. In taking a trial membership of the CMW group of websites you are agreeing that you may be contacted on rare occasions ONLY by CMW for information purposes. This is typically three times per year. Use of Data Any data gathered through the CMW web site is used for internal purposes only. This data is not shared with other organisations. In the unlikely event that CMW or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, customer data will of course be one of the transferred assets.
Surveys/Competitions Web site surveys are used to schedule improvements, corrections or additions to the site. Responses to product-related surveys are used to improve our products and services. Should you provide us with contact data in response to survey questions, or as part of a competition entry, you will receive mailings or telephone calls only if you request this, or, if applicable, in the event that you have been selected to receive a prize.
E-mail newsletters On each occasion that you receive an e-mail you will be given the opportunity to opt out of receiving future e-mail communications. We maintain a strict "No-Spam" policy that means that we do not intend to sell, rent, or otherwise give your e-mail address to a third-party. This is a strict and unchanging policy.
Data Quality and Access CMW takes reasonable steps to ensure that the data we maintain is accurate, complete and timely for the purposes for which they are used. We also take reasonable precautions to protect it from loss, misuse or alteration.
